I am a big time foodie and trying out different restaurants around the city is my ultimate hobby. I was on a short trip to Mumbai last week and on recommendation of a friend, went out for a dinner at a lovely place in Thane. The restaurant is called Mantraa, which is a bar cum restaurant. This one is located on first floor and is really spacious.
The ambiance of this place is classic and they have taken special care to include appreciable spacing between the individual tables so, there is enough space to walk around. There is a very interesting live bar counter plus a live grill area too where they make their breads, fresh and clean.
The most important thing I want to talk about is the menu. The menu is extensive and offers a lots of choices!! Let us talk about some of the dishes that we tried out.Though, I want to say that they have recently revamped their menu and every dish on the menu looked very tempting. This place offers great options in Vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu.
Dinner at Mantraa Restaurant – Thane
Spinach and Kale Fingers
As the name suggests, these are kind of finger shaped snacks made out of healthy Spinach and Kale. There are flavors of cheese, chilli flakes in this snack.It is served with herbal leaves and mayo dip.This one is a must try for health food lovers.
The predominant ingredient is of course, Spinach amalgamated with perfect flavors of fried garlic and chilli flakes on top.This is a delicacy out here and a must try.
Rose Achaari Paneer Tikka
Paneer tikka is an all time favorite with me and I find the grilled flavor too good.This one is extra special as it has an unconventional twist to it. This dish basically comprises of grilled Cottage cheese blended with mix achari dressing.It is very well marinated and is served with freshly chopped Onions.
Mexican Baked Nachos
Balanced flavours of spices in Mexican baked nachos. Loved baked cheese as well.
We tried two mocktails, that is, me and my friend.
The first one is named Happy Ending – It is an interesting combination of cantaloupe melons, orange, ginger and watermelon.
The other one was called Rosemary frost made from Nitrogen. It is basically a Raspberry puree made by adding almond extracts, pineapple and liquid nitrogen.It is really tasty and one of a kind. Chef showed us live session to make this delicious mocktail. I had shared video in my Instagram Profile.
This is one of the classic recipes that is made using Condensed Milk in order to make a Golden caramel. This one has a crunchy base made with crushed biscuits.
Another thing what we tried was, It was delicious in taste and tasted some like Karwas in mango syrup.
The portion size of each and every dish is enough for 2 to 3 people to taste and relish the dish.The prices of the dishes are pretty reasonable.The staff out here is attentive and soft-spoken.
All in all this place has a decent ambience and offers great food to eat that looks, smells and tastes great. The presentation of the food was really good, too.
So, if you stay in Mumbai or are visiting, do try out this place located in Thane for a quick snack or dinner or lunch with family or friends.
